Yousuf still can’t play T20

with one comment

Mohammad Yousuf who had been picked for a T20 tournament in Canada at last, has had some last minute ‘visa problems‘ which will prevent him from taking part in the tournament. He has of course ignored in the past for this format and has been quite bitter about it. Even now he was a late inclusion and he’s been excluded. But he’s happy he got selected at least. I can’t remember the last time Pakistan were playing any sort of cricket. There was, of course the champions trophy that got canceled. And it wasn’t looking like we were going to see the Pakistan cricket team on the field this year but it seems we might see some action after all.

Shoaib Akhtar has of course been selected for Canada. I don’t even remember how he got from banned for life to this but in Pakistan anything is possible. Mohammad Asif, the other controversial fellow is due to appear for his doping inquiry or whatever on Thursday. Why hasn’t this been resolved yet, I have no idea. But these dudes do like to remain in news.

As you probably remember the PCB chief resigned along with his patron, General Musharraf. He hasn’t been replaced yet and the chief selector Salahuddin has also resigned because the board didn’t like his selection. Who exactly in the board changed the team? Is anybody even in charge over there. Isn’t there some sort of anarchy or something. And then there are the retired players like Ramiz Raja, Wasim Akram, Ul Haq etc. who did some press conference and met some minister or something. What are they up to? Basically, like the country PCB is also in a bit of a turmoilish situation. But then it usually is, so nothing to worry about I suppose…
